The Foundation Welcomes New Board Members for 2025

The Foundation for a Healthy High Point is excited to welcome three new members to its Board of Directors. Dr. Adia Ross, Tesila Sexton, and Rev. Dr. Daniel Webb began their terms on January 1, 2025. They will work closely with the Foundation’s Executive Director and staff to support the Foundation’s mission, set strategic direction and the annual budget, and shape the Foundation’s legacy.

“I’m excited to welcome Adia, Tesila, and Daniel to the Board. Their unique professional and life experiences will be an asset to the Foundation as we pursue our work to improve health outcomes in the Greater High Point community. I look forward to working with them,” said Dr. Elliott Williams, Board Chair.

Dr. Adia Ross is the Chief Medical Officer at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist High Point Medical Center. She previously served as the Chief Medical Officer at Duke Regional Hospital, and has held a variety of other roles that include oversight of quality and safety, physician and APP practices, case management, and resident education. She earned her medical degree from UNC School of Medicine and holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from UNC Gillings School of Public Health.

“I’m excited to bring my experience in the healthcare industry to the Foundation’s Board,” said Adia. “It allows me to bring a unique perspective to the Foundation’s efforts to address the social determinants of health. While my work in the medical profession has been focused on optimizing healthcare outcomes, my involvement with the Foundation will provide the opportunity to apply my expertise to finding solutions to the challenges that contribute to poor health.”

Tesila Sexton is the Business Strategy Program Manager at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, where she leads multi-functional teams in strategy, planning, and execution of initiatives across the Southeast, with a focus on clinical operations, market expansion, IT, regulatory compliance, and process improvement. She earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and is a certified Project Management Professional and Prosci Change Management Practitioner.

“As a longtime resident of this area, and with family in High Point, I have an appreciation for the Foundation’s work”, says Tesila. “The more I learn about its community investments, the clearer it becomes how we can impact community health indications to drive meaningful, lasting change.”

Rev. Dr. Daniel Webb is a well-respected revivalist who currently serves as pastor of Beyond the Walls Ministries and as vice president of the Ministers’ Conference of High Point and Vicinity. He is also an associate professor in the Department of Kinesiology at North Carolina A&T State University. He earned a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University, a doctoral degree in Physical Activity and Education Services from The Ohio State University, a Master of Science in Exercise/Sport Science-Special from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a Bachelor of Science in Adapted and Developmental Physical Education from Coppin State University.

“I believe that service is the cornerstone of effective ministry, and I’m thrilled to join the Foundation’s Board as part of that service,” said Daniel. “I’m hopeful that my combination of leadership in the faith community and academic experience in health-related fields will provide a unique perspective to support the Foundation’s mission.” Daniel serves on a number of other boards across the state of North Carolina.

“We look forward to the energy and perspectives Adia, Tesila, and Daniel will bring to the Board,” said Curtis Holloman, Executive Director. “Their collective knowledge and expertise will help shape the Foundation’s strategy as we continue our work to improve the conditions that impact health outcomes for the Greater High Point community.”

Board members Jeremy Moseley, Frosty Culp, and Rev. Frank Thomas completed their Board service at the end of 2024. “We are grateful for the service of our three retiring Board members,” said Holloman. “Their dedication has been key to advancing our mission and improving opportunities for residents of our community.”

Rev. Frank Thomas recently reflected on his six years as a Board member. Read his thoughts here.
